The artist and his Swiss friend always devote August 1 to hiking in the Swiss Alps.

 

In this painting, the artist challenged himself to detailing all the plants and architecture he sees. Staring at this painting will make the viewer notice that in all of the collection, the mountains look as they the were pulled nearer to the viewer's perspective creating a feeling as though the viewer is part of the painting.
